北部九州国際学術交流会会長

モンゴルは我が国にとって歴史的にも深い関係のある国です。東西を結ぶ広大なシルクロードを通じた交易は我が国の文化や技術に多大な影響を与え、13世紀、元の時代にはチンギスハーンが日本に使節団を送ったこともありました。顔立ちといった身体的特徴だけでなく年長者への敬愛や互助精神など精神性もまた親近感あるアジアの重要国です。
ご縁があり、我々は平成17（2005） 年から日本とモンゴルの大学間、および産業界を含めて電気分野での連携を深めるために日本-モンゴル国際交流セミナー (M-J セミナー)を、毎年交互に催してきました。
令和6（2024）年に北九州市で第 16 回目となるセミナーを行うにあたって、さらに日本国内の大学間の連携を深めるために本会（北部九州国際学術交流会）を結成しました。
会を結成するにあたってモンゴルからその他の国際交流にも対象を広げ、日本と世界の学術界、産業界へ小さな一石となるような活動を続けていきたいと願っています。今後の活動へのご理解、ご賛同賜りますようよろしくお願い申し上げます。
Mongolia is a country with which Japan shares deep historical ties.
Trade along the vast Silk Road, which connected East and West, had a profound influence on Japan’s culture and technology. In the 13th century, during the Yuan Dynasty, Genghis Khan even sent an embassy to Japan. Mongolia is an important Asian nation with which we share a sense of kinship, not only in terms of physical characteristics such as facial features, but also in terms of spiritual values such as respect for elders and a spirit of mutual aid.
Through a fortunate connection, we have been holding the Japan-Mongolia International Exchange Seminar (M-J Seminar) annually on a rotating basis since 2005 to deepen cooperation in the field of electrical engineering between universities and industries in Japan and Mongolia.
In preparation for the 16th seminar, to be held in Kitakyushu City in 2024, we have established this association (International Academic Exchange Society in the Northern Kyushu) to further strengthen collaboration among universities within Japan.
With the formation of this society, we aim to expand our scope beyond Mongolia to include other international exchanges, and we hope to continue activities that will serve as a small catalyst for the academic and industrial communities in Japan and around the world. We kindly ask for your understanding and support for our future activities.
